Artist Statement

I perceive art as a profoundly intimate and emotional human instinct. Painting and drawing allow me to express my poetic thoughts, inner states, and emotions in a visual language.

The two constant fields of my exploration are colour, which embodies spirit through light, and form, the geometry through which I compose each painting. Within this ongoing search, I create works that range from quiet, delicate forms to expressive, impasto surfaces and spontaneous sketches, each reflecting my state of mind at a particular moment.

The themes and motifs of my work have gradually evolved. I began primarily with drawing, while developing a personal relationship with colour required time. As my artistic journey progressed, I moved from strictly figurative representation toward symbolism, which felt like a natural direction for my practice. Eventually, this path led me to landscape painting. Working en plein air invites contemplation and allows me to reveal emotional and spiritual dimensions of the visible world. At the same time, I remain open to new ideas, subjects, and artistic possibilities.

As I continue to develop my painting practice and technical craftsmanship, I also immerse myself in the captivating world of art history, which I consider an indispensable part of being an artist. Studying the achievements of past masters continually enriches my understanding of painting and inspires the evolution of my own visual language.

Colour, Form and Light

Oil on Canvas

The works on this site are oils on canvas, in formats ranging from 40 × 30 to 75 × 65 cm, gathered into three series.

Colour and Form

The two constant fields of his exploration: colour, which embodies spirit through light, and form, the geometry through which he composes each painting.

Surface

From quiet, delicate forms to expressive, impasto surfaces and spontaneous sketches — each painting records a state of mind at a particular moment.

In the Open Air

His path from strictly figurative representation, by way of symbolism, led him to landscape painting. For him, working en plein air is a form of contemplation — a way of revealing the emotional and spiritual dimensions of the visible world.
